DESCRIPTION
In the short film Endorphin, we follow Luka through a "psychotic self-recognizing experience," a mental feedback loop where his inner psyche has taken on physical form. The story kicks off with Luka (the version of him that is caged) waking up paralyzed in a chair, representing his repressed trauma. From there, hes forced to watch a violent struggle between different sides of himself. He witnesses Luka (the free version) battling the volatile energy of Luka (the version gripped by panic). At one point, a vulnerable Luka (the scared version) briefly appears, but hes quickly swallowed up by panic before the free version manages to take control again. As things unfold, the world around them starts to fray, showing flashes of a clinical reality through references to painkillers and a chemical imbalance in his brain. It hints at the dark possibility that this isn't just a dream, but a post-mortem descentthe final moments of a mind shutting down. The free version of Luka eventually explains the situation to the caged version, giving him a chilling warning about "Confused." This is a version of Luka that we never actually see, but the free version makes it clear that he hasn't met him yet and definitely wouldn't want to. It leaves you wondering if the people Luka is seeing are even who they claim to be, proving that the person holding us back is usually the one staring back in the mirror.
